Communication
Saying what you need, listening past the first draft, and clearing a misunderstanding before it becomes a story.
This free relationship compatibility test looks at eight areas of alignment: communication, conflict, values, emotional support, trust, independence and closeness, lifestyle, and future expectations. Answer about one relationship as it actually runs — not the highlight reel, and not a hypothetical perfect partner. It is a self-reflection tool, not couples therapy, not a diagnosis, and not a prediction of whether you should stay or leave. Your answers are processed in your browser and are not saved.

People search “relationship compatibility test,” “are we compatible,” and “couple compatibility quiz” when they want a clearer picture of fit: how they talk, how they fight, what they protect, and whether the next few years point the same way. A compatibility assessment on Test & Discover is an original agreement-scale quiz. It does not prove two people should stay together, does not forecast success, and is not a clinical instrument. If you came here asking how compatible you are, treat the percentage as a summary of these answers — then spend more time on the eight bars.
You will see 24 statements, one at a time, about how you and your partner usually operate. For each one, choose how much you agree: Strongly disagree, Disagree, Neutral / Sometimes, Agree, or Strongly agree. Some statements are reverse-scored, so agreeing does not always raise a dimension. When you finish, you will see an overall alignment percentage, a band, and a score for each of the eight dimensions. You can go back and change an answer. Your answers stay in this browser and are not saved.
Each answer is scored from 1 to 5. Reverse-scored items flip that scale. Those item scores are averaged, with equal weight, into eight dimension percentages and one overall percentage. The overall number is the normalized average of all 24 items — not a random “you are 87% compatible” stamp. Bands are fixed: 80–100 Strong Overall Alignment, 65–79 Good Compatibility, 50–64 Mixed but Workable Alignment, 35–49 Meaningful Differences, 0–34 Substantial Differences. If two dimensions tie, the page uses a stable order: Communication, Conflict Handling, Values, Emotional Support, Trust, Independence & Closeness, Lifestyle, then Future Expectations. The same answers always produce the same result.
Compatibility is not sameness, and it is not a guarantee. It is closer to whether two people can live with each other's habits, repair after friction, and still recognize a shared direction. A high score on this page means your answers described a lot of overlap. A lower score means your answers described more difference. Difference can be workable. Overlap can still be lonely if nobody says the true sentence. Read the dimensions before you treat the headline as a verdict.
These eight areas are original sketches of everyday fit, not a licensed therapy model and not a copied competitor list. They are a map for conversation, not sealed boxes.
Saying what you need, listening past the first draft, and clearing a misunderstanding before it becomes a story.
How you disagree, whether anyone can apologize, and whether the repair is as real as the argument.
What counts as important: money, family, fairness, and the life philosophy underneath small choices.
Feeling understood, encouraged, and accompanied when the week is heavy — not only when it is easy.
Honesty, kept agreements, jealousy, and whether privacy is treated as betrayal or as ordinary air.
Time apart, personal space, other friendships, and how much togetherness feels like home instead of a test.
Social energy, routines, spending, and the texture of an ordinary Tuesday.
Work, place, family plans, and whether you can talk about the next few years without one of you leaving the room.
No. Two people can like different music, different Sundays, and different volumes of texting and still run a decent life together if they can name those differences and not punish them. Identical taste is a weak substitute for repair, respect, and a shared enough future. This quiz scores alignment as you described it. It does not score whether difference is allowed.
Yes. A gap in social energy can keep a pair from disappearing into one couch. A gap in conflict style can be a problem or a complement, depending on whether either person can still hear the other. Low bars on this page are not proof of incompatibility. They are places where a more explicit conversation — or more skill — might help. High bars are not proof you can skip that conversation.
People move. Jobs, health, children, money, and boredom all rearrange what used to fit. This quiz only changes if your answers change. Retake it after a real shift, not after one argument. A rising second dimension is often the more useful story than a two-point change in the overall percentage.
A relationship compatibility test is a self-reflection quiz that looks at how two people align in areas such as communication, values, trust, and future plans. Test & Discover’s version is original, free, and scored in your browser across eight dimensions. It is not couples therapy and not a scientific assessment.
In ordinary life, you look at whether you can talk, repair, share enough values, and picture a future that still includes both of you. This quiz can organize those questions. It cannot know if two people are compatible as a fact. It can tell you how your answers lined up today.
Usually some mix of shared priorities, workable conflict, enough trust, and a life rhythm neither person has to fake. Identical personalities are not required. Respect and the ability to update the plan often matter more than matching playlists.
No. Compatible couples do not need to agree on everything. They need a way to live with the things they do not agree on, and a way to decide the things that actually have to be shared — money, place, children, care.
Yes. Personality and compatibility overlap; they are not the same. A reserved person and a social one can fit if independence and lifestyle are negotiated. This quiz asks about the relationship you described, not about two personality types colliding.
Habits can. Listening, repair, and a clearer future conversation can move a dimension. This quiz is not a training program. It can show which area — conflict, support, plans — might be worth practicing on purpose. The score only changes if your answers change.
Neither one replaces the other. Love without any shared life can be exhausting. Alignment without care can be efficient and cold. This page does not rank them. It only maps alignment as you reported it.
No. It is an original self-reflection quiz, not a validated clinical instrument, not a Gottman assessment, not an attachment inventory, and not couples therapy. Your answers produce dimension percentages. They do not prove a scientific test measured your relationship.
